What to Wear and Bring for an ATV Tour in Bali

You have booked your ATV ride, now what do you actually bring? Getting this right means less time fumbling at the meeting point and more time actually riding. Here is a straightforward packing list based on what an off-road jungle trail in Bali actually demands.

Clothes you will not mind getting muddy

This is jungle terrain, not a paved track. Expect mud, water splashes, and dust. Wear clothes you are fine getting dirty. Quick-dry fabric is ideal since Bali’s humidity means cotton stays damp for hours. Leave the white outfit for later in the trip.

Closed-toe shoes, always

Sandals and flip-flops are a hard no on an ATV trail. You need closed-toe shoes that can grip footpegs and handle mud and water crossings. Old sneakers you do not mind ruining work perfectly well. Full safety gear including boots is provided as part of every package, but wearing socks you are okay getting wet underneath makes the experience more comfortable.

Sunscreen and a hat for before and after

Once your helmet is on, sun exposure is not really an issue on your head, but your arms, neck, and any exposed skin still need protection, especially during the briefing and any breaks along the route. Bali sun is intense even on cloudy days.

A change of clothes for after

You will be muddy. Sometimes very muddy. Pack a change of clothes and a plastic bag for the wet ones, plus a towel if you are heading somewhere else afterward rather than straight back to your hotel.

Leave valuables behind

Phones and cameras do not mix well with mud and river crossings. If you want photos, ask your guide, many routes pass photo spots where guides can help capture the moment without you risking your device. Otherwise, leave jewelry, watches, and anything you would hate to lose at your hotel.
